What a find! This is such a gem for people/families who want to take time out to be together by themselves, in relaxed and beautiful surroundings. Unlike many other campsites, we weren’t crammed into a field having to queue to wash dishes or take a shower… There’s just no-one around! And I felt much more connected to nature as a result. We also explored the surrounding area, wild swimming one day and also a day trip to Tenby, which although much busier, was a real surprise. Duncan and Tanya are super friendly and helpful. I think they have created something really special here.  A&R, The Glade

We ve just returned from a fab 5 nights at Dark Skies Camping Oak Arch pitch . It s such a special set up , peaceful and really well thought out .

Wild camping but with a simple but smart shower block 5 minutes stroll away .

Heavenly! M

I had a wonderful time at your campsite, where I turned up with some trepidation, having booked online. I was amazed that it was even better than described, so much space and so beautifully and minimally organised. I couldn't believe my luck to find it and also to be camping in dry, mild weather. I so enjoyed having my own field, so quiet and NO LIGHTING. It's really lovely to follow the natural rhythm of light and dark. I would wake up when the moon rose and come out to admire the sky for a bit and I reckoned it was time to get up when the sun hit the side of my tent.

Apart from the wonderful site and friendly hosts, the hills all around are beautiful, wild, with rushing water, rowan and oak trees. I didn't have to go far to find amazing walks. The Cambrian Way, which is just down the road, was my favourite. I went out every day in the hills. It was so hard to turn back in the afternoon, so I often arrived back exhausted and ready for a good long sleep. I did my cooking on the campfire in the mornings and remembered the art of making small fires and then cooking on the embers. I read quite a bit, but my screen time went down from two hours a day to a 15 minute trip up the hill to sit and admire the view and check for urgent messages. P, Dragon's Back

What an incredibly beautiful campsite and what a beautiful place this is
I was unfortunately only there for two nights, but I enjoyed it under the big old oak tree on the Dragon Back. It was a warm welcome by Duncan. Dragon Back is an amazing place with a beautiful view. The eco toilet and the minimalist make the idyllic complete.
Radiant with happiness You walk through the beautiful pass through the beautiful old barn where you can take a shower.
Now it was only two days, but I will definitely come back again. The Dark Skies campsite, turns Wales into an even more beautiful experience.
Thank you Tanya and Duncan for sharing your wonderfully beautiful place with others!

We had a fantastic stay at Dark Skies Camping and will definitely return in the future.

We loved the seclusion of The Glade with the stream running through. We dipped in the stream, sat by the camp fire and watched the stars.

The wash facilities were ideal. Hot water and for our exclusive use most of the time! The local pub was minutes walk away for an evening meal and the site accessible for many forest and woodland walks. Wales is great! And we will be back!

Thank you again. J&M, The Glade

Your land gets more and more diverse and is such an oasis! P&U Bluebell (3rd stay)

We have just returned from a 5 night stay on Oak Arch pitch with our two young children. What a beautiful place - the whole site. Of all our secluded 'wild style' camping trips this felt by far the most wild. This was down to the seclusion of the pitch, the fact that our tent was about 2 meters from such a pretty and large stream, the fact that the whole site was nestled in the hills and forests and the fact that it really was very dark at night! It was such a magical experience to lay in bed and hear such a plethora of animal sounds - owl hoots, fox screeches, rustling all around, and the steady gushing of the stream.

The children spent every waking hour in and out of the water - damning, wading, treasure hunting, wildlife observing, and barefoot dipping. We had a small list of places we thought we might visit during our stay but we only ended up visiting 2 of them because of the beauty of the site and all it had to offer. The facilities were excellent, the compost toilet in easy reach of every pitch, and the showers the best we'd ever experienced - huge family cubicles so we could all go in together for ease. Tanya and Duncan were extremely warm and down to earth and we were really impressed and pleased at their passion for eco living, and how much they encouraged that on the site. We cannot wait to return next year! J&K, Oak

We (2 adults, one dog, one campervan) spent a few days at Dark Skies camping in August 2022 and it was the best camping experience ever!

From booking, which was very easy and every step of the booking process was confirmed in an email, from finding it as per directions sent by Tanya and Duncan, from the warm welcome we received once we arrived, everything was perfect. The reason we chose this campsite was for stargazing, and it did not disappoint! The weather was amazing the whole week (bit too hot for the dog really), with clear nights and the stargazing was out of this world - pun intended! Our pitch was the best we ever stayed on, so spacious as was the rest of the campsite and all the other tent pitches. You really go back to nature here, just lush greenery and mature trees, the sound of the stream flowing nearby, the birds, the cows, the compost loo (each pitch has its own compost loo, which is great!) and best of all, no mobile signal. I put my mobile on airplane mode when we arrived and had the most restful week ever. A lot of nice walks in the area, we only did a couple due to the hot weather and old dog, but there are so many you can do, the whole area is so beautiful.

Thank you Tanya and Duncan for creating such a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy!
